We Saw Cesar Millan in Toronto

Just Last Monday my wife and I have the real privilege of seeing Cesar Millan in Toronto. Now I have been a follower of Cesar Millan for quite some time now and was really looking forward to seeing him live.

We arrived at the Air Canada Center at around 6:30pm, a little early for the 7:30pm start time, but you wouldn't have known it. The lobby areas were packed with people just as excited as we were and since we were a little early we walked around and grabbed a beer and relaxed for a little while before being aloud in.

We had floor seats right up front and center of the stage adorned with the set of a living room and a front door and in back and on both sides were very large big screens.

One of the things I had prepared ahead of time was a question to ask Cesar. Those of us who had floor seats were given a small card to fill out a question we would like to ask him. You see, after the seminar, floor seat ticket holders could stay for a question and answer period with Cesar. Anyway, I filled out the card and dropped it into the box for them to look at and hopefully select for me to ask later and I will tell you my question at the end of this post.

The seminar was better than anything I could have hoped for. This guy has tremendous stage presence and people skills. He is extremely entertaining, informative, and humorous and not a minute of the 2 and a half hours was wasted. It seemed as if everyone felt they were a friend of his.

I think the thing that sealed the deal for me was his on stage demonstrations with dogs he didn't know. Dogs with issues were brought on stage with their owners and Cesar worked his magic just as he does on 'The Dog Whisperer'.

For those of you who don't know too much about Cesar Millan or are skeptical, I urge you to watch his show on TV. I do!

I have a 14 month old male boxer named Siko. Sisko has been to obedience school and I feel he is well trained, but beyond obedience training, I have gained a tremendous understanding who and what a dog is and what they need to be happy and fulfilled in their life.

Now to the question I had for Cesar Millan

"You mentioned on an episode of The Dog Whisperer that dogs don't have a personality. In humans, personality is something we gain in the first few years of our life through experiences and shapes our individuality.
If dogs don't have a personality, what determines their individuality?

Sadly my question was not picked. The questions that were picked were all about behavioral issues.

So, I would like to hear from anyone out there who would like to comment about this question.

So ends my lengthy post. See ya at the park.
